If you don’t operate on any particular schedule, but still want to buy fresh produce every now and then, Betty Foster operates a great market on her own and a lot of locals have been buying fresh produce from Betty and her family for years. She usually opens a little earlier in the year and closes a little later in the year that the other farmers markets. Her store is open weekdays. 405 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, NC. The phone number is 695-0233.
Keep in mind also that many of the leading restaurants in the area have made a major commitment to buy produce and even cheeses and meats from local farmers and producers. They include: Ashtens's in Southern Pines, Rhett's in Southern Pines, Elliot's in Pinehurst, Rue 32 in Southern Pines.

Pinehurst is hustling and bustling in preparation for the Men's and Women's Golf US Open. Here's a sneak peek of what you'll see next week.
Today the Pinehurst Clubhouse has been taken over by the USGA.
The Carolina's original water tower is getting painted. What a brave man up there!.
The greens are closing down.
Scaffolding is going up.
Temporary buildings are being put up.
Pinehurst's beautiful walkways will lead you to the event at the clubhouse.
Once you're at the clubhouse say hi to the 'Putter Boy'.
