Let The Renovation Begin

 

 

 

Today the contractors will start to demolish the existing bathroom and kitchen. 

At this point my husband and I decided to renovate the existing part of the house. Next month we'll present the new interior, exterior and the landscape plans to the town's historical board, in hopes that they'll .give their stamp of approval.

Until then, in the existing portion of the house, we'll repair any cracks in the walls and ceilings,  add a coiffured ceiling in the library, add crown molding through out the house, paint walls, paint trim and doors, refinish floors, change all of the interior door knobs to glass knobs, remodel bathroom and kitchen.  We have a lot of interior finishes to choose.  We started to get ideas for the bathroom.  In a few weeks we'll meet with the suppliers and order flooring, tile, fixtures and cabinetry.  These are some of the ideas we've come up with for the bathroom. We still have to determine a bathroom cabinet, (I prefer a pedestal sink but we need the storage) wall color.
