Heading Back to Pinehurst

We are having a lovely fall up here!  My love for this season has evolved.  When I was younger, I correlated fall with the start of the school year.  Because of that, fall was a bit of a downer for me. Now my senses are keen to the smell of leaves and the crunch of them beneath my feet.  My senses are on fire with the blazing color palette surrounding me.

On the car ride to visit family in Georgia, we talked about the possibility of buying a cottage in Pinehurst.  We talked about this particular cottage that was up for sale and its need for much tender loving care.  We loved the location of it.

When our family visit was over in Georgia and we were driving back home, we called the realtor. We asked her for a showing of the house. We wanted to see how much renovating would be involved.  She suggested a contractor to meet us there.  Below are some inside photos I took.  As you can see the house is in much need of repair and updating.  It did have some good bones though and the lot is huge.

We hopped back in to the car for the rest of our trip back home.   After arriving home we began drawing up a new tentative floor plan. Below is what we came up with. At this point we are feeling a connection with this house and we decided to submit an offer to buy!
The shaded area would be an addition added on to the cottage.
