We eagerly arrived in Pinehurst with a real estate book in hand. I was eager to see lovely cottage after cottage. Mature trees mixed with pine bellowed over each homes roof top. Yards were bordered by stone or white picket fences and the side walks were not typical to what I was used to. They were made out of sand. Why walk on the side walk one has to ask? The roads were almost sleepy. Within walking distance from this Historic Old Town neighborhood was a quaint New England style business district. We walked by an ice cream shop, pubs, restaurants, boutiques, cooking store, wine store, tea and coffee shop plus more. Integrated within this part of town is the Carolina, Magnolia and Holly Inns. Yes...they're as southern and lovely as they sound! Oh...did I mention the golf course. I was experiencing Pinehurst envy!
